Connexions services are implemented in schools and colleges via a Delivery Plan that is negotiated between the educational institution and Connexions Norfolk. Some of these services may include:
Personal Advisers
- PAs work within educational institutions for a given number of days per year according to a formula that takes into account cohort size, special needs provision, exam results and other factors.
- Potential uses of Personal Adviser delivery time are subject to negotiation, but often include a combination of individual and group work. As well as delivery days within the school, they also include out-of-school activity in the summer holidays and throughout the year.
LDD Services
- A dedicated team of specialists to work with young people with learning difficulties and disabilities, both in special schools and mainstream education.
- Services delivered depend upon the need in any given year.
Education and Guidance Development
- EGD team is responsible for the provision of INSET training and consultancy within schools on the issues relating to careers education, work related learning and the personal development curriculum.
- Also supports schools in achieving the Careers Excellence quality standard.
- Provision is determined by consultation with each school/college, with the opportunity to specify areas in which consultancy support is desired, including supporting Connexions Services (such as Information Services; see below).
