To enable staff involved in the co-ordination and delivery of careers education and guidance to develop their understanding of the subject, their roles and the materials and support available to help students and staff.
Objectives
By the end of the session participants will:
- Understand the agenda for careers education and guidance (CEG) in the 11-19 curriculum
- Develop their understanding of the role of the Careers Co-ordinator in school/college
- Be aware of 14-19 options, qualifications and pathways available to young people
- Review a range of Careers and Connexions information, websites and publications
- Understand how CEG and work related learning can contribute to students career learning
- Identify the partnership roles of the Connexions Service including Personal Advisers in supporting the delivery and development of guidance in schools and colleges.
