Target Audience:

New or recently appointed Connexions Co-ordinators and other pastoral staff involved in student support in schools and colleges.

Event Notes:

Aims

To enable staff involved in the co-ordination of Connexions work in schools and colleges to develop their understanding of the service and their role.

 

Objectives

By the end of the session participants will:

  • Better understand the role of the Connexions Co-ordinator in school/college
  • Develop their understanding of the Connexions Service and how the service works in partnership with schools/college
  • Understand the role of the Connexions Personal Adviser and how to work effectively with the PA for the benefit of young people in school/college
  • Consider the network of student support operating in own school/college/area
  • Review existing systems and procedures for referral and students
  • Consider the range of Connexions Information and materials available to support students including software, websites and publications
  • Identify the partnership roles of the Connexions Service including Personal Advisers in supporting the delivery and development of guidance in schools/colleges.

 

Costs

Course costs, including lunch and refreshments, will be met by Connexions Norfolk.
